I’ve been using PVC pipes as lightsaber blades for years I could tell you from experience they are very durable they withstand a lot of punishment i’ve used them in the past for lightsaber films and lightsaber combat.

F.Y.I. from a Plumber.
Please be sure to use Sch.40 pvc it will work great. Its thick 1/4" pipe and should handle a beating. Sch.80 conduit (its a gray pipe used in electrical work) might actually work better. The same thickness, but it has more flex in the pipe.

Don't use that thin wall pvc or the pvc that's coated, it will most definitely shatter. The coated pipe would feel super smooth in comparison.

Keep them in place with friction tape and watch how it goes with a few hard hits
