Bangladesh Unrest: Indian students narrate worrying situation as they return home with BSF’s help

Amid the ongoing protests in Bangladesh, train services from India and Bangladesh have been halted indefinitely. As Bangladesh is going through a curfew, internet, as well as transport services have stopped, causing difficulties for both Bangladeshis and Indians. As the situation worsens in Bangladesh, services of the Bandhan Express and Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express have been stopped by the Eastern Railways. Many Indian students studying in Bangladesh, have been transferred to India through the Agartala ICP in Tripura. The BSF and Bangladesh officials assured that the students, mainly studying medicine in Bangladesh returned to India safely. Amid the heightened protests, the WB police deployed tight security outside the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata. The riots in the neighbouring country started weeks ago and escalated this week, leaving dozens dead as students started revolting against the return of job quota.
