THE WIZARD OF OZ books by L. Frank Baum and Ruth Plumly Thompson were some of the first books I can remember reading that weren't picture books! This is my entire Oz book collection, including old and rare Oz books from authors L. Frank Baum, Ruth Plumly Thompson, John R. Neill, Jack Snow, and Eric Shanower!

📖 ABOUT ME: I'm an Author, Pastor to Kids, and Book Reader! I love to read mostly middle grade fantasy, sci-fi, and Christian fiction as well as non-fiction books on writing, Children's Ministry, and creativity. I can often be found reading a good book and talking about them to anyone who will listen. I especially love re-exploring the Christian fiction books that formed my generation!

The Del Rey additions are the first ones. I’ve read when I was 10 years old. I still have the full collection and with probably Thompsons I adore them. They’re close to my heart.

Omg I’ve found my person! Dude!! I have many of those books plus others. I can’t believe how many Oz books keep popping up! Have you read the Dorothy Must Die series by Danielle Paige? I’ve only read the first one but I have the complete series. You just brought me down memory lane with this video ! This is like my entire childhood ! I love Jack Pumpkinhead so much. The books I probably treasure the most are the white editions published in the 50s/60s by Reilly & Lee. Now I want to film my entire collection. You are inspiring me. -Joe

Very nice collection! Unfortunately Del Rey didn't publish all of the Ruth Thompson books, so there will never be a "complete" set from Baum to (at least) Thompson from that publisher. John R. Neill didn't write more _Oz_ books because he died in 1943. His last book, _The Runaway in Oz_, remained unpublished until the 1990s. A similar situation happened with Jack Snow. He also died a couple of years after completing _Who's Who in Oz_ .

Thanks, I didn't realize there was so many books after L.Frank Baum. Keen to read some of these other stories.

This was enjoyable. One book I plan to get at some point of Eric Shanovers is The Giant Garden of Oz where the vegetables in Ems and Henrys garden grown enourmous size, and dorothy goes in search of emerald city for help. So many books of oz out there and you got a great collection, thanks for sharing!!!

I LOVE this video. I’ve been buying the first edition reprints by SeaWolf Press. They’re gorgeous!!!! Have you seen them? They just printed The Giant Horse of Oz and Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz comes in April.
You may not have heard, but currently Amazon has stopped letting SeaWolf sell their books and the publisher is trying to work with them but getting nowhere. All of my friends in our reading group wrote to Amazon requesting they help SeaWolf meet their needs.
Would you and your Oz group be willing to write to Amazon too? This just happened. If so, just respond and I can give you and your group the contact info. Fingers crossed!!🤞🏻

I myself have only read the Barnes and Noble edition of L. Frank Baum's first five Oz novels, ever heard of that one?

I would like to purchase copies of the original L Frank Baum. I want to get the unabridged copies. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you

The Riley and Lee books are from the 30s. They are the third editions usually.

These are so cool!!! Love the original covers of the Oz books. I just purchased a 1-15 set from Sweet Cherry Publishing. I don’t know much about the set, other than I got them for $30 new. Hopefully it’s a decent set? I just really wanted an easy way to read beyond the original.

Edit: the set actually arrived today. The box is very nice, it is apparently a UK released set from 2014. Sadly, there are no author’s notes or illustrations…. But hey, it was a pretty cheap set all things considered.

Did you ever read that Roger S. Baum book? I've got two by him... One about the Cowardly Lion that just did not "feel" right to me. I wanted to like it so much more than I actually did.

I've got an unpopular opinion... I like the Ruth Plumly books more than Baum's! It's so cool you have that full set of Del Rey. They're hard to find these days!

In my opinion, the worst Oz book ever written was the barnstormer of Oz by Philip Jose Farmer. Have you read it?

So many of these books should have never been written in my opinion just because you can write about Oz, does it mean you should. So many bad books out there on Oz
