I've been camping a lot with my family when I was younger. Spent many days in the out doors. Now that I'm older and married I wanna start the tradition again and carry it on to my own family in the future. I've been scouring the internet for tips, tricks, hack and lists. Found your channel and decided to binge every camping episode. Im not a beginner but I didn't know the tent needs to be further than the tarp. We found small ceiling fans that connect together and work on 1 rechargeable power pack.. they are lite weight and a great addition when it's hot at night.. a very small thing but comfort for sleeping makes it sooo much better.. we tent camp when I'm having a good week.. I have serious health issues that sometimes makes it impossible to tent camp.. my other half is amazing.. after my diagnosis he traded his brand new toyhauler and bought us a diesel pusher so I can do long road trips..when life throws a curveball you figure it out..Yes we still tent camp from time too time.. we camp and glamp...lol

My favorite story is the first night of camping, my family decided to camp up a mountain in New Hampshire in June. The washcloths froze on the line! It was so coooold we almost gave the whole thing up. We found a spot in the valley early the next day.

Your first tip is the number one thing all campers should do. Check all of your new gear before you head out! I learned my lesson many years ago with an instant tent. Got to camp, unpacked the new instant tent and started setting it up when it started pouring. Hurried to try and get it set up only to find that two of the poles were installed backwards from the factory. The knuckles were facing the wrong direction. Had to find a screw driver and disassemble the 2 poles in the driving rain and reassemble them to get the tent up. It totally sucked! ALWAYS CHECK YOUR GEAR ESPECIALLY NEW GEAR BEFORE HEADING OUT!!!

I've burned anti-mosquito insense to clear the tent when I didn't have the tent door shut enough. With the door open, they leave pretty quick, then i can seal it up fresh like it never happened.

When I was young, the very first night of camping in June, in Vermont, we waited too long to get a camping site. We ended up in the mountains. Got setup okay, but it got so cold the washcloths froze on the line.

I get a campground map of the place I am thinking about going and I pay the day use fee to drive around with a co-pilot to take notes. Mark on the map with highlighters of different colors the most desirable campsites (green) and the medium ones (yellow) and the least ( orange) then I eat my picnic lunch, take a nice walk. Go home and tidy up my notes. Then I have a "top ten" list for when I am ready to make reservations.

Just a suggestion, when you camp, setup cameras and you can use that footage to show the things you're talking about. It'll make your videos more engaging. No hate, great information but would be awesome to actually see how things get done :)
