The Jedi had long prophecised the coming of the chosen one, a being who would bring balance to the force. The sith also had their own version of this known as the Sithari. The Sithari was said to be a great leader but would destroy the weak sith to make way for a stronger and more powerful order. Many believe Darth Bane to be the Sithari as he destroyed the sith order and instigated the rule of two sith Lords. Others such as Palpatine believed himself to be the Sithari, although his ultimate defeat which led to the elimination of the sith suggests he was mistaken.

The chosen one was never a jedi, or a sith. It only exists to balance the force after it remains unbalanced for too long. Anakin did exactly what was expected of him.

Darth Banes feats alone set the framework for all Sith after him. Man wiped out the entire Sith Army a nice portion of Jedi with the Thought Bomb. Wish we could get a game or movie about him someday.

Maybe Darth Vader was the chosen one. They always say they’ll bring BALANCE to the force, no one said they had to be a Jedi, plus, there were a hell of a lot more Jedi than Sith before he came along. That seems like an imbalance to me.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding it or just not into enough, but every time they talked about the chosen one bringing balance to the force I always thought "you have a Jedi order with Jedi across the galaxy and a council of elders vs 2 or 3 baddies, the balance the chosen one brings is going to wreck you".
