By the time of the clone wars, The Jedi order consisted over 10,000 beings so one may assume that an army of Sith would have been beneficial in helping Palpatine defeat them. In the days of the old Republic, the Sith numbered almost as many as the Jedi and had a large empire. However, the Sith were never able to achieve dominance over the galaxy for any great length of time. As soon as the Sith Empire had the Jedi on the back foot, lesser sith would ally together to overthrow the strongest sith lords, weakening the empire overall. This led to Darth Bane ultimately instigating the rule of 2, the reasoning being that only the strongest sith would survive, with the apprentice only overcoming the master if they were more powerful in the dark side. The Sith would also focus on weakening the Republic and Jedi from the shadows which eventually of course they did, ultimately leading the the elimination of the Jedi Order by Palpatine.

Yes but palpatine broke this rule by killing his master in his sleep cause he knew he couldn't beat him, also weakening the sith.

Honestly I feel like a rule of 3 would be better, because not only would the apprentice have to grow stronger than the master, but also have a rival that challenges them

Thats interesting, i recall reading or i may have been playing a game of star wars when i heard this quote bout the rule of two of which bane enforced after betraying his master; in his own words "a snake that shares its venom with other snakes will grow weak overtime whereas if it hoards it with its fangs it can use that excess venom to produce stronger effects" i hope i recalled it correct but it does make sense when you look at how effective sith are even now when its spoken of, have the master that is the snake and apprentice that serves as its fangs while aiding the two. However doesn't mean the snake is safe when its fangs turn against it and poison it with the very venom used to hold the cards XD bah ill shush but ayy great vid man
