2 Skills to improve your underwater dolphin kick. Swim faster underwater

There are two main challenges in doing an effective underwater kick. Maintaining a good streamline position and moving your body like a dolphin.

Now if you just see a dolphin swimming you would assume that the propulsion comes from the back fin, but what you don’t see is that the power to move it is being generated from the central core muscles. The same goes for the swimmer in the water.

With good flexibility and core strength, doing effective underwater kicks will be much easier and enjoyable.

You can struggle with the first point, the streamline, if you don’t have the necessary flexibility. Flexibility is gain over months, not days. So if you are serious about getting better at underwater kicks, subscribe to this channel because the next video will be about specific stretches you can do to improve your underwater kicks.

For the second point, moving your body like a dolphin, you will need a lot of core strength. I will also try to upload a video next week about core strength specifically for underwater kick improvement.

this is really helpful for dominating everyone in sharks in minnows at the pool. you have to tag people's head while their above the surface, so the big kids just dolphin kick along the bottom and I'm always wanted to be able to do that. Great video!

My boyfriend swam in high school and one of his old buddies ask me if he’s good in bed. He said it was from the dolphin kick 😂

I practiced ballet and gymnastic before swimming but i dont get it, my body is flexible but i do not move fast.

Quick tip: if you point your toes like a ballerina and move your feet up and down, it might give you a boost. I tried it earlier and it worked.
