Very nice video again, Peter! I've got one of these, a no nonsense camera that's great fun to use! To close the lid over the selenium cell, I believe you must hold it down, and push the tab on the side slightly. To open it, just push it carefully the other direction, and it flips up.

I really appreciate your thorough "go through" of these vintage cameras. I love shooting old cameras, but I do not have anywhere near the knowledge you have about them. I find your videos very helpful and sometimes they give me ideas of which cameras to look for. Thank you.

Lovely Camera! I have got a similair Zeiss and a Voigtländer as well, never thought of using a flash on it though!
Really amazing how you test all these cameras with all possible scenarios and even do your own darkroom wet prints of the images!
Keep em coming! Looking forward to the next video of yours! Cheers

Another cracking review Peter of a lovely Zeiss camera. When I saw the leather case in the opening seconds I was waiting for the trusty Neatsfoot oil to make an appearance, but then I remembered the camera was only on loan :-)))

Nice camera made by zeissikon, I have a pair of this model, and use it very frequently, It gives wonderful results with immaculate sharpness and colour rendation, due to quality Zeiss lenses, Thanks to Zeiss, to produce such a marval, and a rigid quality masterpiece, SK Pareek, Bhawanimandi INDIA

The 'exposure-value system', just like the Voigtlander. Surprised cameras don't continue to use it. So useful.

Seems to be a good little camera, lovely sharp images. Mind you what can you expect with Zeiss!

I had one of these in the '60s.
The meter would not wake up, unless it was a bright snow covered day.
Not trusting it, I stayed with an Argus C3.
Thanks Chris

This was so helpful! I just bought one of these and had found absolutely no videos that matched up to the instruction manual. Do you know if it’s ok move the take up spool and center the slit so that the little peg takes up the film?

Love your vids, sir! I wish you would use some other pointer besides a pencil. I notice you marking things up!

Great videos! Thank you for all the sharing! Where do you usually find all the gem cameras? Old film cameras are a joy to use. Which one is your favorite if you get to only carry one with you?

Hi Peter, when you were a professional photographer did you ever use the
Zeiss Contarex bullseye Camera ? It is a big beast of a camera but
great looking. Thanks for another interesting video.

Mister Elgar, come over to the Netherlands to help the Young Ones.
The young generation is falling in love with analog photography.
Some sell second hand analog cameras in digital photo shops.
You are the only Photo vlogger who shows his model
on a soft blue blanket;
so very sexy
Uses a pencil to point the parts.
Those were the days: EV shutter and aperture coupled, like the Hasselblad had.
Zeiss Cortina ?
I did not know Ford & Zeiss merged together.
I need a new pair of Zeiss spectacles to look through.
When I was young in the Sixties I nicked my father's Cortina in the weekends.
Ian Duy sung: Billericay Dickie had a love affaire with Ina in a Cortina.

I think you've simply got a rubbish example here. Everything on the pair I have moves effortlessly including the frame indicator. Just twist it with you thumb. The arrow is plenty big unless you've got serious vision issues.
