The Irony about Kaito hating Kokichi for lying is that he himself was also a liar... He hid behind his lies. Made others believe he was alright.

Honestly it's quite tragic how two opposites shared the same flaw.

I'm glad Jay says Shuichi is his favorite out of all the protaganists. He is also my favorite, too.

You know what’s sad. Not a single person cared that kokichi died. They only cared about kaito. Even when it was revealed that he was lying as the mastermind and trying to help, they dismissed it and didn’t care/saying it as unbelievable (with the exception of keebo-who he bullied through the game). They continue to only care about his theory that the killing game is being watched then him as a person

Fun fact: The reason why Tenko hates men isn’t because she is “sexist”, it’s because the person that taught her neo aikido adviced her to stay away from men. Also the reason why he adviced that is because he didn’t want her to fall in love with a boy and lose interest in aikido.
Edit: I’m not saying that Tenko isn’t portrayed as sexist, I’m just saying that it’s not the main and only reason she acts like that.

I hate how after the trial no one mentioned how Kokichi gave his life to end the killing game and free all of them back in their normal lifes

Dang kokichi's last words actually just hurt. The "At least I wasn't boring right?" And the "I had to lie to myself" break me each time I hear them.

Also the fact that he has always been planing to end this killing game too, but he had to make out himself to be the villian in order to accomplish that. "You're alone kokichi and you always will be." Hits harder now doesn't it?

"Kokichi has been lying the entire game." You would be surprised how many times he was telling the truth. Even more than the rest of the cast. He was brutally honest, saying things no one else dared but thought.. Ironic..given that he is supposed to he THE liar.

Edit: Some of important translation differences between the Japanese version and the localisation, regarding Kokichi Ouma. ~

- EN Kokichi: "Wow you got rid of that emo hat. Is this cause Kaede died or whatever?

JP Kokichi: "You aren't wearing that gloomy hat anymore? Is it because of the impact Akamatsu-chan left on you after she died?

- EN Kokichi when Gonta failed to catch Kirumi:
"At least ONE OF YOU is worthy of being called an ultimate.

JP Kokichi: "I'm not surprised. She's an ultimate after all."

- EN Kokichi in FTE's: "I killed my brother!"

JP Kokichi: "My brother killed my patents." (Wtf)

- JP Kokichi uses the term "for everyone's sake" EXTREMELY OFTEN in the JP version but in the English one he says this three times and one of those times is if you talk to him randomly outside the academy.

- EN Kokichi: "You're too scared to point your fingers at each other so you hide behind the word "trust". How do you expect to find the culprit when you're all woried about each others feelings?"

JP Kokichi: "You are just scared to doubt each other. You are trying to run away from what it truly means to trust someone by avoiding the responsibility of overcoming doubt first." (Wow this one really takes the cake. I hate what the localization did to this part.)

- EN Kokichi: "I'm always doing stuff for everyone's sake. But I'm sure you won't believe that so I'll just keep lying!"

JP Kokichi: "I'm always thinking of everyone else no matter what I do. But you guys would never believe me so you'll take this as lie too." (Again..why do you change stuff this much?)

- Shuichi at the end of trial 4: "Are you satisfied Kokichi? I want you to tell us."

JP Shuichi: "It's okay now, Ouma-kun. Can you tell us what you were talking about now?"

I hate the localization more and more every day.

- Kaito to Kokichi: "I don't wanna survive it it means I have to stoop to your level!"

JP Kaito: "I won't let SOMEONE LIKE YOU survive with us!!!" (Jeez they really tried to make Kaito a better person in the localization..)

- EN Kokichi when he takes the sword from Kiyo's lab:
"Don't worry! I'll be super careful with it!"

JP Kokichi: It's okay if I touch it! I'm like a fairy! At least my personality is. (I WISH THEY KEPT THIS DJSKSKSK)


<3 After free time events in JP version upon returning to his room, Saihara says: "Ouma-kun is very pure..isn't he.. All he actually wants is to play."

- EN Kokichi: "There is no more place for you BASTARDS to go back to!"

JP Kokichi: "After all..the outside world doesn't exist anymore. So you have nowhere to go. Its pointless to try and get out."

- EN Kokichi: "That's why I'm more nervous around friends who share too much than strangers, really."

JP Kokichi here says he is SCARED of friends.

-EN Kaito: "it was hard ignoring such an annoying guy. I wonder how far ahead he planned this evil scheme of his."

-JP Kaito: "He was way more complex than we thought. I wonder how much of it was a lie..the evil personality I mean.."


- In chapter 4, JP Kokichi actually says that the memories are strange, the flashback lights are suspicious and that it all feels like a made up story. He also specifically says "Isn't it weird that only the things that are scripted to happen in stories, happen?" This was taken out of the localization.

I love that Jay never judges the "crazy" characters like nagito or in this case kokichi. I could find myself smiling every time he said he hating seeing kokichi being hurt, like getting hit with the arrow or in the press :, )

The chapter always breaks my heart, but at the same time I feel proud.

I’m proud that Kaito had stopped running away from his problems.
Kokichi and Kaito are probably my fav duo, they’re both liars
