Owned one for 13000 kms and just under a year, put it on road for AUD $47k. I easily average 14 kWh per 100 km. I’ve done long road trips on Australian regional roads both bitumen and dirt and find the car is quiet and handles fine for a family SUV.
I’d confidently say it’s the best long distance driving vehicle I’ve ever owned as far as driving comfort and reducing fatigue. Infotainment systems far superior to German and Korean cars, LFP blade batteries have no recall issues so far and BYDs don’t suffer BMS and inverter problems currently effecting Korean cars. Charging network in Australia mainly limited to 50 Kw “ fast” charging units so the 80 kWh speed no real disadvantage yet.
I do wish we had your 11 kWh AC onboard charging speed feature as we are limited to 7 kWh in the antipodes.
Finally LFP batteries advantage is they are easier to recycle have longer service life, good performance in hot weather and for all your ignorant anti EV friends no children down the mines required, not sure why Atto’s are so expensive in Europe selling like hotcakes down here go figure🤔

I must say that this expert's opinion differs A LOT from what other experts say about this car. In the reviews I've seen about this car, the general impression is that comfort and driving abilities are much better than what this man tells us.

I disagree with most of your review. I have had one for over 6 months and am very happy with it. I find it very comfortable, especially the seats. I believe the softer ride adds to comfort and if it was firmer you would be criticising the harsh ride.

@ 3:35 - Voice control is actually pretty good, and (with almost a year of ownership) I seldom need to take my hands of the wheel on any trip as it carries out many functions seamlessly. For example, while the reviewer @ 4:45 prefers "physical buttons" to adjust temp and fan speed, I just talk to it and it happens... so no need to take eyes off the road at all.
BYD deliberately chose a low charging speed for battery longevity. Unless you regularly travel over 300km in any given day you will never need to use a fast charger. I have done monthly trips just over 300km and always managed to recharge at home to top the battery back up. In a years ownership my charging bill is under $150 and that's only because I use the 50kW charger at Ikea whenever I shop there (Ikea's per kW rate is a few cents cheaper than my overnight rate at home!).
Like many others who have commented AND own an Atto 3, my driving experience has been extremely positive. However, as with any front wheel drive, take care accelerating out of corners as you might feel the rear end slipping away.
Personally, the best thing about the Atto 3 was that apart from having a great infotainment system, the transition from my ICEv really didn't require me to do much different. Being a lot older than the presenter, the idea of owning a Tesla which is controlled by a touchscreen was foreboding.

ATTO3 is absolutely not the "best" EV from China, but it's the most affordable and usable EV-SUV made for daily driving.

Swipe up from bottom of screen in CarPlay to reveal ac settings, it’s really not difficult, it amazes me how many reviews are done without fully understanding how a car functions

I knew BYD from the electric bus they make and actually now everywhere in UK.

I doubt the niro can be charged to 100% every time u drive it. the real practical range daily of a niro will be much lower. The good things about LFP batt is that it could . Well enough said glad some other viewer have commented on some inconsistencies or positive experiences. The Atto 3 is definitely selling for a high premium in the UK

In Australia same atto 3 cost £27.4k, my brother has got one and i driven it plenty of times handels really well at all speeds nice and planted the steering is fantastic even when hoonig a bit maybe british roads are worst than here but i doubt it, my experience has been different from this review.

10:57 well the main thing is that BYD gives you a 8 (eight!!) Year warranty which does include the battery, so there are no suprise 20k bills when the battery is dead in 2 years.

I disagree with your review I own one in the UK the design spec and find the seat are spot on for long distance I'm getting real world test around 240 I think you did not give this an honest review are you in love with the Nero seems that way. I recommend this car to anyone I got rid of my 2023 Nissan leaf and don't regret it

Need more cars from china here. Its crazy how much china has advanced in a relatively short time. Their cars seem crazy good. Ive seen videos of them. The prices should be cheaper but the western governments will tax like crazy to not make them viable to come here

This has been available in Australia for a while and is very popular, but the cost of an ATTO 3 (and other EVs) is much less than the UK. It's around 25K GB pounds here.

Our company owns 2 of them. I. Australia they are great value. More than $10k cheaper than a Niro EV.

They drive much better than what the reviewer claims in my opinion. Maybe it is because Australia has terrible roads and then you really appreciate a good supply ride

Think they have mispriced that to be successful.

When explaining the faffing of accessing the fan speeds, remember, the voice assistant is there for you.
Just say “hey BYD” she’s got your back.

An important point that you did not mention is that the Lithium-iron phosphate battery, does NOT burst into flames even if mechanically destroyed.
