The master of EV has arrived. Even other makers like toyota and tesla ordered Batteries from BYD. Tried it as grab car, really comfy and quiet. Those strings actually sound e, a, g keys. Minor complaints only the many touch screen buttons, and that logo at the back (but international version is just BYD I believe). The interior is inspired by gym equipment like dumbells design for AC, handlebars, boxing ring 3 ropes on the door (which also sounds like guitar note), boxing gloves on the seats, dashboard mimicking human muscles

EV reviews should not forget to mention the V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability of the car. I heard Atto 3 can power your appliances for upto 2200W. Its like having a power generator during brownouts

Saw a couple of these in BGC. Absolutely gorgeous-looking. If I will buy a second car, this will definitely be in my selection list.

Charging a 60Kwh pack at home using the wall ordinary wall outlet from 0-100% will take 34 hrs with a 8A-220V outlet, 27 hrs for 10A-220V and 21 hrs for 13A-220V. If you wanna get the 10hr charging speed, you will need a 27A supply and a special wallcharger like Wallbox.

Just finished watching Bjorn Nyland review on his BYD EV. One of the things he has a problem was the battery temperature is high even in a place were it was 13 degrees Celsius. He was mentioning if that is the batteries temperature in a a cold environment then he can't imagine its temperature in places with above 30 degrees Celsius. This would concern me because the Philippines can reach to 40 degrees in Summer and many commented that the Chinese only designed their battery temperature control on colder climates because they have mostly cold climates were the cars are made. It may not cause a fire but at higher battery temperatures it can decrease the lifespan of the batteries. There was one comment who mentioned that some BYD users in Saudi had even upgraded their battery cooling system to adapt to the warm climate. Bjorn's other concern was problems with BYD on other charging stations from not getting the handshakes to having slow charging. He was able to solve this problem because they have different stations to transfer but here in the Philippines we don't have that many charging stations if one does not work properly in a BYD EV.

Caco sneezing on EVs that love to go zip zoom is always a good time (as long as done safely of course!)

I bet this is still faster than most subcompact crossovers. I might be wrong though. For a starting price of under 1.6m, those with extra disposable cash who wants to try an EV might actually get this as their stepping stone towards a future and much better branded electric vehicle.

For a coal powered country, are we really saving mother earth when we do shift to EVs in the future?

I just wish the gov't. offer in the near future subsidy for interested ecar owners to bring down cost that we ordinary 1m budget citizens can finally afford. :D

great review, love the truthfulness, stating the pros and cons. Looks like a car, not cartoonish or gimmicky. And the range, wow! BTW, had you proven that it can travel that long with a full charge? I wonder how safe it its vs. collisions and battery related fires and how tough it is.

Great review! The brake system is important for me. I am considering a Nissan or Kia.

See, this is the issue I have with EVs: Let's say a typical trip to La Union takes 4.5 hours. In the event that you need to juice up during your trip, that adds another good 60 minutes to your trip to add a fraction of percentage (via fast charging), that is if you get a charging slot immediately. What if there are more people lined up before you? Versus typical few minutes using ICE / Hybrid. Then once you get to your accommodation, another challenge is finding a charging port in the parking slot in a hotel, resort, or airbnb. And if you do find one, it wont be fast charging. So you need the entire night to charge up the car, again, if you find a charging slot in the parking. And if you do, will they even allow you. Such a hassle.

Range anxiety will still be a thing unless you see dozens of charging ports available at every gas station.
