DIY Cabinet Hanging Hack

CABINET HANGING HACK! Ideally, cabinets would be hung with two people so you have an extra set of hands but SHE DON’T NEED NO MAN! 😉😜

I’m simply screwing a scrap piece of wood into the studs (make sure it’s level!) and then resting the upper cabinet on the board while I screw it into the studs. Once your cabinet is set in place, remove the 2x4 and stand back and admire your work! 👏🏼 I’m so excited for how quickly this kitchen is coming together 😍 IT’S GOING TO BE SO DREAMY!!! Should I leave the cabinets white or paint them?

Follow along with me @comestayawhile to watch this kitchen project unfold! These are the Colorado white shaker cabinets from @lilyanncabinets_ ! You guys can use code AMANDA5 for a discount!

Cabinet hack that's been around in construction for about 200 years

True with other comments. Something else is to take the cabinet doors off to hang the cabinet bodies. Align edges and bottoms of cabinets. Clamp and screw together before fastening to the wall. It’s always nice to have your walls repaired before installing cabinets.

On the job I make a wooden T out of 2x4s... build it to the exact level of the bottom of the cabinets, then I wedge it underneath them. I call it "The Wooden Man" He does great work for free... with 0 breaks for smoke or food.

When I bought my house mines were installed the same way. Seen them coming off the wall. Pulled the screws out the back board and placed them where they needed to go.

Great if you have timber stud walls but annoying if it's concrete. You can also use a pair of Third Hands from Fastcap so you don't have to drill holes or anything

a whole lot easier to install the lowers first and then prop the uppers on boxes. Have done this by myself for 45 years. no rush, all uppers can be screwed together before attaching to the wall. plus, remove the doors. it makes the cabinet a whole lot lighter to handle.

You remove the doors so you can clamp and attach the frames together, the weight savings is simply a bonus.

We usually have metal bars screwed to the wall and the drawers have hooks on the back. You can hang the cabinet and then fasten and ajust the hooks from the inside to make it flush and level.

Much easier when doors and shelving is removed. Start screws also after marking where they are, , , , 😎✌️

Nice idea to use vertical laser to help locate studs. But why not at least repair drywall before hanging them. Seems you'll have a mess later.
