There's something about rooting for someone who's down and feeling joy and relief and maybe sometimes hope when they end up on top. But there's also something so powerful about seeing someone who's down and can't make that comeback. A bit of a reality check. Similarly, I read "a fault in our stars" and was shook when Augustus died.

Just thinking out loud here but maybe these ideas are interesting to me because I think I'm a pessimist. 🤔
