As an update - the transmission has to come out of the Ford which means we can't use the truck camper and toy hauler for exploring. Hopefully we can get out on the boat or use the "truck not truck" to get to some neat spots in the mean time! Thank ya'll for watching!

I was a real estate appraiser, agent, assessor for 32 years; there's always a STORY behind the circumstances....as in the WHY this was abandoned? FIND out; it's always great fun to do the sleuthing. Example: very different between a repossession by the bank/bankruptcy than the property was running out of water and wouldn't perk= NON buildable. Or...the border crossing was becoming a safety issue with all the illegal migration.

I'm betting that you bought the river property. I hope so, anyway. Solar powered property. River water available with a solar powered pump. I grew up in El Paso, in the 1950's and 50's. Dad took us to Sanderson and Del Rio a few times, for adventure vacations. I love the desert. Few places like that available, these days. Hoping your next video is a tour of this (your) property.

Chipotle is smoked habañero…also, Julio’s chips beat all! If you ever wind up renting RV spots, I think you’d make a killing. We went to Big Bend, and saw how dry the river was there, the Rio Grande was about knee deep in some spots, hip deep in others in spring of 2022.

Glad to see you three again. Couple of cool quotes from the vid: "It's at least a dog deep" and "Ultimate escapism"....I love how you two talk about being away from people and yet your videos are watched by more than 13, 000 people!

How much will the owners pay you to take it?

As a West Texas born and bread Texan. The wind blows year round. Usually March-May and Sept-Nov. are the worst months. It will blow 30 mph sustained w/ 50 mph gusts. That part of the states hits 100 degree plus from about May to September. Also be careful of drug/human traffickers. Love y'alls content!!

I have a 7.3 with a ZF 6 speed. Couldn't get anyone in 3 state area to overhaul it. Finally went to Minnesota (Midwest Transmissions) to get it re built!

Talk to locals. I live 45 minutes from Del Rio and can tell you that you definitely want to know some history.

28:55
I did Dog Handler School at Fort Sam in San Antonio.
Monday -- 28°f and fog.
Tuesday -- 50°f and gusts to 60mph.
Wednesday -- 75°f and calm.
Thursday -- torrential monsoon.
Friday -- ice-storm.
.
Moral Of The Story:
* For a visit, Wednesday is best.

Depending on building codes in the area; that trailer might be worth keeping; re-regustering the licence plates; and than tearing the trailer completrly off the frame and disposing of it; welding any frame expansions with portable supports as necissary for the new floor plan; and then building a new home, ground up, on the mobile home frame, and keeping the license plare registration up to date.

Before that high bridge was built when I was a kid, that road you took to the so-called boat ramp was that Highway across the river. You went down one cliff on one side and then you went across the river and then you went up the cliff on the other side.

Amazing - I live in Kentucky and my wife and I were in that exact spot in May 2024. We had gone to spend our first nights camping in the desert and we stayed at the Seminole Canyon campground. While exploring the area between Comstock and Langtry we saw that abandoned campground. The desert and scenery was amazing and we are not used to being able to see for such long distances - all our views are limited in distance by big trees and hills.
