As someone who has owned both vehicles, you can't go wrong with either choice. Toyota has the edge when it comes to fuel efficiency and safety systems. Mazda has the edge when it comes to delivering a premium feeling interior. Both manufacturers are two of my favorites in the business.

I've owned 7 Toyotas & loved them until the introduction of seal transmission which made fluid change a challenge. Also the V6 Sienna which I currently own is a pain to just replace spark plugs. Honda & Mazda are brands to go if you are DIY like myself.

Mazda uses a traditional 6 speed automatic transmission rather than CVT that made my decision .

Toyota Corolla XSE hatchback you are stuck with one transmission which is a CVT. The Mazda 3 HB you can get in a 6 spd. Manual or 6 spd. Automatic. Which of the 3 transmissions are the most reliable between the Mazda and the Toyota and will last longer?

I’ve had 4 Corollas in the last 15 years, my current car is a 2023 Corolla. I’m considering trading it for a Mazda 3, I just don’t feel safe in the Corolla with the CVT.

Yes the older models were comparable. At this point in the game it’s apples and oranges. Mazda 3 is luxury, Toyota Corolla is proven to be reliable. Mazda 3’s aren’t unreliable either. Toyota buying Mazda stocks or what is going on?

I do have a 2019 Model Mazda 3 upper trim and for so much I do not replace it.
By the way I do own a 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport.

Lol mazda 3 is way better, I have a 22 premium and there no corolla that can compare, not even close, and mine is not even the highest trim
