Giant Banana is a special item of Morton Koopa (Common), Donkey Kong (Super), and Sunshine Mario (High-End).

I'd put the yoshi/birdo egg as a honorable mention. As you can hit someone and then pass them with a mushroom! Can also be good for combos as people can hit the items it drops! Both eggs are good but some are better for times then others. If you are in 2nd with an egg and 1st is really far you want a yoshi egg as the items drop backwards. If you are in 2nd with and really close to 1st you want a birdo egg as it drops the items forwards.

It's been amazing to have Sunshine Mario as a Giant Banana user in ranked. I also have 9 Coin Box characters right now and they have constantly been helping me out in ranked and just in general. Pink Gold Peach and Pauline (Party Time) are both at higher levels, Pauline (Party Time) at 6 and Pink Gold Peach at 5. I still have to invest into the rest though. I'm missing Swimwear Rosalina only as of Trick Tour 2021.

IMO, I think the coin box is genuinely overrated. First of all, each coin isn’t worth more than 20 points, and because of the wide spray, you’re only likely to get around 6 or 7 of them. Second, it doesn’t help you catch back the lead—coins very barely speed you up, not enough to make any good position increase. Third, a few of the items above, including the Blooper and Lucky Seven, reward you over 80 points per hit and let you hit loads of players, which usually tends to get me more points than when I use the coin box. I legit have no idea why everyone loves it so much.
