I think I can articulate the gold and amethyst one.
Amethyst is crystal and purple, so girl-coded.
Block of amethyst is kiki and raw ore blocks are bouba.
Gold is a complementary color for amethyst, just like the shapes are complementary.
Saturated rare colors imply modern individuality, so you know.
In this context it's possible to draw upon lack of male curvy (as in made of circles) yellow characters. Male yellow characters are mostly square or spiky.
