I’m just an ordinary layman who is curious about the universe. I would to ask some layman questions:
I presume our galaxy is not the center of the universe, hence it must also be moving away from the center just like other galaxies.
1. Is the speed of expansion the same for all galaxies?
2. If the speed is the same, should we have observed that some galaxies seem to maintain a constant distance from us? I’m thinking for eg. 2 cars are driving at the same speed away from the same point in a linear path, one after another. The distance between both cars should be a constant, is that correct?

My apologies if you find the above questions trivial.
