How to remove columns in Microsoft Word

This is a Microsoft Word tutorial covering, columns, section breaks and column breaks. The tutor starts off by adding some sample text to the screen. Once the text is on the screen the tutor selects the two-column option from the Layout menu on the Ribbon. Two columns are displayed but text only appears in one. The tutor creates a column break and adds more text to the second column. If you want to remove the columns and return to the default of one column per page, you must add a section break continuous. After the section has been added, select one column from the layout menu and the document will revert to default. You can see the column and section breaks by selecting the View tab and either Outline or Draft view.
