I'm watching this series again because it is so good. All the cast members, all the scripts and dialogues, the sets, and those awesome period costumes are high quality in every way. Thank you for this wonderful series. As it comes to an end, I am glad I found Endeavour and keep re-discovering it.

The opening 10 seconds of this clip are heartbreaking. He is so depressed, in so much pain, yet he pastes a smile on his face as he gets out of the car. Brilliant acting.

Shaun Evans is a brilliant actor, subdued, breathing life into this character with ciphers, small gestures, looks. It must be a challenge to play a character so sketchily drawn.

I’ve loved this series for all the years it’s been filmed. I understand the end is upon us but it is crushing to think of there being no more Endeavor to look forward to. Then I’ll live on watching them all over again.

Great series. The actors are professionals in every sense of the word. Thank you PBS.

Strange is fine, nice man. But the Morse's unspoken feelings to Joan just break my heart. Morse had never felt anything like this with the other women. He was always confident but not with Joan.
I need something between these two in next season.

I enjoy hearing the actors natural accents. It demonstrates for us Westerners their skills and nuanced character development. Cheers!

It's fun to hear the actors speaking in their regular accents. I forget Sara Vickers is Scottish.

I love this show…ever since the very beginning and am so sad this is the last series…I looked so forward to it every week…the acting, the writing, the story line, and the scenery makes it a total winner…bah, bah, bah!

This is such an excellent series. I'm watching it again, from the beginning and they are thoroughly enjoyable. Although the plots are familiar to me the second time around, they are so well written I can never quite remember exactly 'who dunnit' or why. And that's a pleasure!

Didn't know Mr Evans was a Scouser.
I love this series, Morse has such a vulnerable and poignantly sad face, he's wonderful. Love Fred Thursday as well. What a great cast.

Strange sure is the dark horse! I really didn’t see that coming, but it makes perfect sense. There was the moment where Jim says to Joan, “Mind how you go”. Yes, it’s an idiom of the local parlance, but, even so, it always seemed a bit by-gone days whenever Fred says it, as he is in a way, but a good way. Thursday is old school, but in all the best of what that means. When Strange said it to Joan, it made me see the similarities between Jim and Fred. They’re cut from the same cloth. He would be the kind of person that Joan would feel the most comfortable and safe with. He’s more stable, and would be family oriented. He would be a better match for Joan, and quite the son-in-law for Fred. In a scene in Terminus, Thursday and Strange are basically dressed identically! Literally cut from the same cloth ~ lol!
We can’t help but want everything for Endeavour. He’s the protagonist; the eponymous, central character. But, we have to face that the Morse we know from, “Morse”, had to become the bit of a tragic figure he became, some way, yes? Endeavour became Morse through so much emotional loss. Shutting himself off lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy of never having lasting, nurturing relationships.
We should want better for Joan, although our hearts break for Morse.

I recently watched several episodes again, including the final one. It was so powerful, it just seems to get better when you watch it again, picking up on all the bits you missed. As for THAT scene in the church, wow! tremendous stuff.

Such a great program…Sean has come along way from the early parts he played when much younger

I always thought that Strange had a bit of a crush on Joan. He would always light up around her and be softer towards her and I don't think it was because she was the boss's daughter. He's also able to give Joan all the things that Morse isn't and they would be a good match. I think Strange and Joan would be happy together and be good to each other.
