I guess this may sound crazy, but this is breaking my heart, as if he were someone I really knew. I hate to see him in so much pain, and because I know his destiny, it makes it even sadder. Poor Morse. It’s funny how attached you get to characters, but then, I’ve been a fan of this entire three-show series for the better part of my life. I’m truly going to miss it.

The last part impressed me a lot. Beautiful performance, wonderful characters, but I liked Morse the most. The sadness was visible on his face until the last scene. I felt his loneliness and restlessness in his soul. I give a 💓 to the whole team who made this wonderful series to be admired 💓💓

Even though he never actually told her. I think she knew. They both knew what they had went beyond friendship. I wish he would’ve actually told her. But I’m thankful we got this scene!

A classic example of faint heart never won fair lady ! If he'd just been a bit less timid but it wasn't in his nature. It was a wonderful final episode, the scenes with Fred and Morse brought a lump to my throat !

It's stupid to care so much about tv characters but I can't help myself. Morse deserves to be with the woman of his dreams. I can't believe Joan doesn't feel something to Morse. I saw her doubts about the wedding in last episode and now she is very sure?.. Jim is a fine guy but he is too simple. And Morse is like a tragic knight. He doesn't care about himself, he sacrifices his life, his feelings and interests for other people. And he is always alone. I feel related to Morse.

i reckon if joan married morse he would have probably started his wedding vows in a very similar way to how he's confessing his feelings to joan here. such as the lines "i love you i've loved you since the moment you opened that door"

i did feel this kiss bit was too good to be true especially when it was actually turned out to be a dream sequence. it was close enough though to what so many of us wanted for morse and joan. im surprised they didnt use this trick in earlier episodes in scenes with morse and joan. they could of done the dream sequence bit in series 4 especially, series 5, series 6, and the end of series 3

Aww it was so lovely that they had that moment even if it was a dream, it needed to be addressed somehow it couldn't just be left unsaid. That was a good way to do it at least we still got to enjoy the moment and what couldve been. And the moment where he watches Fred walk away for the last time, knowing they'll never see each other again. So sad, he was like a father to him but we knew there had to be a reason and that was a pretty good one.

In a way I like how finally Morse has closure with Joan. This is a great prequel to already great show and complex character we already know and loved. ❤
