That's what everyone loved about Han, no overacting, simple calm facial expressions every time and you just always knew what he was thinking. Such a smooth guy.

Just for the record, the man who say " not bad " is Keiichi Tsuchiya, the drift king .

If the guy who made drift says not bad then you done good

This is how a protagonist should be done. We actually see them develop from no skills to taking on the king by practicing and practicing with a lot of mistakes along the way. They’re not automatically amazing during their first try unlike how movies today portray their protagonists.

2:47 As a kid I'm just like "Ah, two old guys fishing...cool. Did they drift when they were younger?"

But now I'm just "You dumb little gremlin! That's the Drift Gods!"

I like that Keiichi Tsuchiya in this movie. He is a living legend who is still drifting sometimes in his 70'. I once met him on drifting championship and even near him you can feel his confidence, his character, his cool, and still he is very wise and kind man. When i asked him "what you can tell me as to a new guy". Main thing he told to all people who was there "learn how to do it until you would be confident enough to stay safe"

My favorite part of this training sequence is where Han says "Go go go go go go" and you can hear the sweet rev of the car

"The first drifters invented drifting out in the mountains..."

Actual first drifter: "Man, I just didn't want people to get bored watching me win all the time."

"I could sell rubbers to a monk."
