Is it worth considering the Intel Arc A770 if you're building a desktop computer in 2024? Well, both yes and no- but there seem to be some identifiable trends that may help you come to a conclusion as to whether or not it's the right card for your machine!

The Intel Arc A770 is a performance segment graphics card launched as a part of their first generation, code-named Alchemist, of discrete graphics cards! Surprisingly though, Intel has been in the GPU business for decades and you have probably experienced one of their GPUs integrated into a CPU. By percentage of devices sold with Intel graphics, they account for the majority of graphics solutions sold per year- however can their mobile expertise translate to the high performance, high power budget desktop discrete market? Well... surprisingly yes and no...

I am running one in my current system. Excellent card for the price, I have no problems with mine at all, runs everything I've thrown at it without even a hiccup.

The Intel A770 is a decent performing GPU. Been happy with the recent driver updates and use it for 1440p gaming. Thanks for the review.

If Battlemage equivalent of A770 is 20-30% faster than this and keep the current (reduced) pricing. I can honestly see it sells some

I clicked on this because my friend is looking to build a PC and Micro Center has an Intel bundle with board, 32gb ddr4, processor, and the Arc 770 all for $450. Sounds like a good deal

Picked an A770 up from a local place for 220 bucks on special offer, quite an upgrade from my 1660 super 😅

The Arc graphics drivers have come a long way in unlocking this card's potential for gaming, but I wonder how much more Intel's engineers can squeeze out with driver updates? This might be close to the best we are going to get. Not bad, priced right, but not competitive enough for core gaming. Best suited for folks who like to experiment. Intel has open source drivers for Linux, so it might be great for Linux gaming.

Looking at this for a 2nd 1440p computer, ironically the 16gb vram and driver optimisation will probably give it a longevity at future budget level than the fancier alternatives with lower vram

Good review. I have had a good run with my A750. I just regret not buying the A770 16g version. :( My only regret.

Honestly, i think the a770 is an often overlooked value package. Decent native 1440 performance that will benefit a lot from fsr (specially fsr3 + fg) in the future helping it to stay relevant especially with its 16gb of vram.
Surely not a good option for anyone that doesn´t have a mainboard supporting rebar and maybe still a bit of a gamble for anyone mainly interested in older direct x games. Especially older niche titles are unlikely to be a focus of attention from the driver developers to fix a potential issue (graphic glitches or stuttering).
For anyone who only (or at least mainly) plays modern esports titles, modern triple a titles and who also has a modern cpu/mainboard combo the card can be a real value option. Even more so if you get a good deal/discount.

A bit of feedback for the vocal recordings: typically, when doing recorded work, you don't want to sit in the lower register of your vocal chords, as it can cause a scraping/scratchy quality to your recording that can make it more difficult to listen to. That is to say, the "normal" speaking voice most people use doesn't record too terribly well, and can also cause vocal strain over long periods. Typically, you want to keep your vocal chords at a more "neutral" mid-tone (it's hard to explain in text, but trust me, if you relax your throat, you'll feel where your vocal chords will 'even out'), which both allows you greater range to pitch down or up depending on what it is you're trying to convey, and also reduce undue stress on your throat. You may not initially like how "high/squeaky" your voice sounds to yourself, because you, like most people, tend to speak from the chest, but it will definitely help tonal clarity and it will 100% save your throat in the long run.

Sincerely,
Someone who's given themselves laryngitis from choral concerts multiple times.

This card reminds me of when Nvidia released the 1080. They made something ahead of its time and it only gets better with drivers

I'm planning on using it for CAD and modeling, this is Great 👍

It is a great card. Almost weekly driver updates have helped this card become quite a good 1440p gaming card. 👍👍

Just got a new PC with an Arc A770. Couldn't be happier. Decent card, nice memory size and fair price.
Very happy with it.

If intel had the drivers they have now at release, they would not have been able to make these cards fast enough.
Timing is everything.

Direct benchmark comparisons against similarly prices gpus would have been useful to establish the final question "is it worth buying it in 2024?"

I am planning to build a pc with Arc A770 for freelance video editing. I will mostly use Premiere Pro, After Effects and sometime Blender. Which one will perform better in video editing gunnir or limited edition when LE have more bandwidth (560gbps vs 512gbps) and Gunnir have higher clock speed and better cooling system. I heard LE has heating problem. Is it solved now or does it still have a heating issue? If you tested those cards recently for video editing then let me know which one performs better in real-life video editing.

Yeah, I bought an arc just to support the card. Let’s get another name in the game to balance out prices.

Finally a 3rd competitor. We don't need an Nvidia monopoly...
