I'd be sad that this is over, but there's still a huge amount that I could do to optimize all of the old puzzles. Probably not going to record that process, but I sure will enjoy doing it on my own when I get in the mood to revisit this.

To your questions at the end of the video:
First off, I'm not a programmer but I study Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science, so I'm probably part of the target audience.

My approach to these videos was most often:

Pause the video at the beginning of each task to figure out what is wanted and very briefly think about what is asked and how I would approach it. Then watch you do the same and listen to what your approach is. It was different quite a few times.

Often I would put the video speed on x2 to save time because I as a viewer have the luxury to not have to implement what you just talked about or what I thought about. (You are still perfectly understandable at x2 speed btw.)
I do have to admit that I sometimes zoned out and missed quite a bit in the longer videos or when I thought I had an easier solution or when I was stuck in my own thoughts. But most of the time your commentary did get me right back into it.
I quite enjoyed this LP. It was so different and it was nice seeing you come up with solutions and it was motivating when I could spot the errors you made in practice or the errors I made in assuming what would work.
I would however probably not enjoy playing the game as I actually do not enjoy coding work myself. The practical work is most often very off putting to me. (Yes, I kinda missed the mark there choosing my minor...)

Overall I really liked the series contrary to my expectations at the start.

Thing is, this is probably MORE complex than machine code, since you are also restricted to X line in 'physical code blocks' and the communication between them is a lot more arbitrary than your usual RAM.
Then again I've never worked on a proper machine language, maybe they do have random accumulators in every scope.

I enjoyed this a lot. As a fellow programmer, I bought the game just to compare our scores which is something I don't usually do for other games.
There is *one* more secret puzzle though. It doesn't add anything new to the plot, but it's still unexplored content.
I've included how to find it below.

In the anti-tamper certification screen (F2) click on the eagle.

Congrats on finishing! I got 80% of the way through the campaign myself but never finished all the bonus puzzles. Nice to see it through to the end. As a hobby programmer it was fun to watch your approach to the puzzles.

Hope to see you tackle some more programming puzzles in the future - I'm sure you're aware of are the other Zachtronics titles Shenzhen I/O or Exapunks. (Both use a similar (but different) fictional assembly language; and note that I found Shenzhen I/O gets *really* hard near the end. But both have a stronger narrative/story than TIS-100.) Human Resource Machine / 7 Billion Humans also great in the same vein.

I'm not in the target audience for this game, but you and others enjoyed it, so it's all good. Else Heart.Break() was interesting because programming was a smaller part of the game. With watching most other puzzle games I can attempt to solve it in my head. Not so much with this game, from the little bit I did watch.

Anyway, always good to hear you enjoyed the game. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next.

Hey Alex! I got into your channel via grimrock fairly recently and I’m wanting to check out some of the other content you’ve put up! I was wondering however if you were planning to cover the grimrock spiritual successor to “Lost city”. It seems super cool, plus the mod author has a cool shoutout to you in the mod description. I couldn’t find a single YouTubed who has covered it before and it would be so cool to watch another one of your grimrock LP’s! P.S. if you decide to cover the mod, it made some cool changes to guns and farmers, so it’d be awesome to see you try something that wasn’t super viable in Lost City.

So I haven't been following this LP very closely, but here's my thoughts on some of the things:
Zachtronics games - Although Shenzhen I/O is the next chronological game, I'd recommend you past Opus Magnum before it. Shenzhen I/O is fairly similar to TIS-100, so it's probably better to break it up with Opus Magnum which is a bit different. You should then play Shenzhen I/O, and finally Exapunks, which in my opinion is the best by far. But it's up to you :)

That was a very interesting series! If you like it, then you shoud definetely try other games from this developer. (Zacktronics)
I am aslo a programmer and I aslo like unusual challenges like this one, so watching you solve all of these puzzles was quite an experience. It made me go back and replay this game and finish of puzzles that I haven't solved in the past

I only watched a little of this, both to keep up with the story, and also sometimes challenge myself to at least think through how to implement some of the programs and then skip to the end to get a feel for what you did. I kinda enjoyed watching elseHeartBreak more than this, as it was more visual, and also I think I like sandbox-y things more than you... (I wonder where you feel Baba lands on the sandbox spectrum, as many puzzles admit more than one solution/strategy)
