This channel is dedicated to creating new programmers for software development jobs.
I am not going to sugarcoat the reality versus expectations that you will encounter in your programming career.

This video is the first in a series that will share my 17 years experience of what I wish I had been told in college before I got started. Colleges? They don't tell you about the realities of programming careers.

I also talk about entry level programming jobs and interviewing for computer coding jobs and careers and how to get a programmer job. What kinds of questions they ask in job interviews and what you really need to know in your coding job.

Maybe you should consider a programming career and learn programming skills...Is it really that difficult to get online nowadays and learn computer skills online?

Do you need to go to college even? Do you want a coding jobs description? Then look no further than here.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter: @codingisforyou

Good luck and enjoy, I wish you the best.

@codingisforyou, I think you provide some very realistic advice on your channel and I'm not sure what is your take on freelancing but it would be awesome to get your insight on:
- what defines a programmer as intermediate or senior?
- how to get from intermediate programmer to senior/master?
- the difference between employee and freelancing income in the US vs Europe (I'm from Romania and that's why I ask)
- what would you do to find potential clients as a freelancer?
- how would you calculate your hourly rate (US vs Europe again)

As a college student that works full time as a painter. i dont care if i have to sit all day. its a whole lot better than coming physically exhausted home every day or every other day.

Everybody says "pick what you love for a career" and not "for the muney" . I wonder how many of those people realize that job market is limited with jobs that people like doing.

You need to go out an exercise, very often. I do it every day before I start working. Also, you need to walk around while working. You don't just sit there, because the lack of blood circulation will stop you thinking.

This man said the right thing....Computer jobs are basically the same...sitting in different cubes... I worked in VFX for almost 2.5 years...and I left the job 8 months before....why I left?..The reason is the same...sitting the whole day in front of the computer and also the salary was too low....what i get from the past two years are depression, a bloated stomach, not conscious about health, less social interaction, eye floaters also need to mention that I was a person who likes computer games....I would spend hours in front of the computer when I was in high school....But when I choose computer as my job sorry to say it almost ruined my life..My dear friends everything he says in this video is absolute truth....hear him before getting into the sitting my

This is so true, there's no freedom or creativity when working in big, structured companies

Sitting all day in the A/C, fixing puzzles; sure beats heavy lifting or lite, in the sun all day.

Still better than working at McDonald's.

Man I wish I would have listen and taken people like you serious 6 years ago. Computer Science at the university was great. Now, every job sucks. I am going back to work as a baker (that's no sarcasm)

More than anything, programmers need to he very patient ... You have to be ok with banging your head against the wall for several hours or days without giving up.

Please keep this style of editing. No intro, music or outro. Just down to the point and clean. Love it

Best real-world YouTube video of what it's like in the industry. (Also: thank you for no 5-minute montages involving organic kale buffets)

Very good and honest points. I can resonate and agree with many of them. At the end of the day I discovered that programming was not for me. I cashed out early and quit exactly because desk jobs suck. I really don't think humans were made to sit in front of a screen for 8 hours a day.

Anyway, on your point regarding physical activity, I learned a few tricks on my first job. First of all, I was lucky enough to like fairly close to work so I would ride my bicycle there - it would take me about 25 mins in one direction. I was able to shower at work and I had some clothes there. About once a week I would take my car and get all the laundry and bring in some new shirts etc. It was a nice arrangement that my boss was happy to allow me to do. After work I would ride my bike right to the gym where I would spend about 1.5 hrs a day, 5 days a week. At work, I would do exactly what you did. Every hour I'd get up and walk, do a couple of jumping jacks or whatever. Just get the blood pumping.
Do NOT become entirely sedimentary. I've seen many of my friends from college deteriorate over just 10 years becoming fat and ugly because they never exercise.

I don’t see this as complaining. He’s giving important information for people new to the field. Very helpful.

Haha, this channel should have title <codingisnotforyou>. But I agree with you as software developer with 10 years of pro experience. If you convince someone to this profession then he won’t be surprised at least how it really is. I like this profession, but it is not job for all people.
