In Dante Alighieri's "Purgatory," the second part of "The Divine Comedy," the poet narrates his journey through the mountain of Purgatory, which is divided into seven levels: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust. Each level corresponds to a deadly sin, where souls are purified to reach Paradise.
