Couldn't be happier with Ultra for astigmatism/presbyopia. Fitting was very easy and I now have clear vision throughout near and far. Much better than just toric lenses since my distance is good but close up was strained. I didn't like the fact that I had to carry a pair of reading glasses. I might have well just kept wearing my progressive eyeglasses. They are very comfortable and I forget that the lenses are in most times. They're especially great when I'm at the computer and when I'm on my smartphone.

I've been wearing Biofinity Toric XRs. Now that I'm 40 and the ability to read fine print isn't as good as it used to be, I had my eye doctor prescribe me with Biofinity Toric Multifocals. I just picked them up yesterday and I've been wearing them. My visions almost like it was in my late 20s, early 30s. The way they work is weird, but believe me, they work! I heard there was some adaptation as your brain learns what to do with the "2 images" being projected on your retina. I really don't notice any of that. So the adaptation isn't long at all. Only thing is that instead of 1 rainbow halo around the street lights and traffic lights at night, there's 2.

Going in a few days to get fitted with contacts (I have worn them before), but am looking at the toric multifocal. At 51, I do not need correction up close due to my level of myopia, but intermediate and far distance are two completely different negative diopter prescriptions. I do have astigmatism and am looking for the crispest possible vision, especially at night (the starring of the street lights and headlights has always been an issue for me). If they say multifocal GP/RGP are my best option, then I will try them. I have tried monovision and could not get used to it. I tried multifocal back when they first came out and could not get used to them. I am hoping this new generation of multifocal will be much easier to adjust to than prior ones.

Where have you been, all my life. I’ve been begging for these lenses since 2005. I did that progressive glasses. Waited til today and I’m wearing trials right now. Let’s see how they work out. Enjoyed watching, thank you

I have tried multi-focal lenses before, and it was so frustrating to me because the lenses never showed clear vision whenever there was dim lighting. Therefore, I could not drive at night with the lenses on (there were halos around car lights & street lights, I couldn't read street signs, and because of the blurred vision of the lenses I could not judge clearly how close I was to a vehicle), nor could I see clearly in a dimly lit room. I have tried several brands, but Biofinity & 1-day multi-focal are the names that come to mind at the moment that I've tried. Do all multi-focal lenses have these cons? Do you have any suggestions that can help this matter?

Just picked up the Ultra toric multi today. I only have the astigmatism in my left eye. The right eye was fitted with an Ultra multifocal. Hoping this works for me. As of right now only having them in a few hours, vision comes and goes. Dealing with dry eye as well.

I like the B & L Ultra multifocal for astigmatism. I wish it came in higher powers for astigmatism and daily wear.

Hoping that either of these will work for me. I'm about to find out as my optometrist has ordered some specifically for my prescription. I'm excited!!

Do toric multifocal lenses always contain an element of MONO vision?

I got my first toric multi focal lenses recently, and to my dismay, they are also slightly mono-vision. Right eye far and left eye close, but the contrast is less severe than when I tried mono vision the first time without multi-focals. My optometrist says that is just the way it is done. Is that even true? I see okay up close, but my distance vision is not comfortable. My right eye sees clearly, but my left eye is blurry and my brain is supposed to compensate for it, but I keep feeling the blur in my left eye and my distance vision is not crisp. Near vision is great.

Biofinity Toric Multifocal. As had cataract surgery in my late 40s and opted for good near vision as was Myopic before. I have quite a high add. The Contact lens prescription is a +2.00 ADD. I'm a -2.25 in both eyes and with 1.00 cyl. With these lenses I've gone with a 0.75 cyl. Best lens I've tried but I do not wear lenses everyday.

Currently on my third trial pair (Air Optix, Acuvue, Bausch and Lomb) of multifocals. I seem to have the best balance of near and far vision with the Acuvue Oasys for Presbyopia

I have read that these are an older, center-distance design and discontinued. The newer Acuvue Oasys Multifocals, much like most multifocals, are center-near design

Do you know if going to the Acuvue near-center design, provided the strengths stay the same, would alter vision in any way? I would prefer to use the newer design and not ones that are discontinued. But don't want the good near/far balance to change

I'm so glad to learn this. I despise my glasses.

I just tried the B&L Multifocals for astigmatism. I kept waiting for them to work correctly. Put them in at 9am and by 3pm while driving, I had to pull over and take them out. I kept getting blurriness and especially when I look up or try to see far off in a distance. They were not that great for reading either. I had to keep putting on my readers to see anything in small print. These were a trial pair and I'm going back to my doctor tomorrow for a consult.

I just tried a trial pair of B&L mutlifocal toric lenses and love them. I previously wore Acuvue Oasis for astigmatism. Do they not yet have a multifocal toric lens?

I have them for the first day, perfect far away vision, but close by it is not good, like mobile or computer letters :( what I normally can see without any glasses at all. My prescription is per -3.00 CYL -0.75 AX 090 ADD +1.5 D I think the last ADD should be different, should I better try less like +1.25 of more +1.75
