Common Core State Standards - What About Standardized Testing?

Many parents of public school kids are disappointed and frustrated with the number of standardized tests being given to their children even as young as first grade! With the Common Core State Standards initiative, the number of tests will increase - and worse, now teachers will be graded on the test grades of their students. We wonder what will happen with this kind of a situation? More of what we've seen in Alabama and Washington, D.C. where testing scandals are frequently reported?
