Thank you for making me feel so very stupid. I'm over here with a pair of linesman pliers like its 1858...

If you have longer wires, you need supports in between to prevent sagging while it is twisting . What i did was passing the wires into a small 10' long pvc pipe . If it is 100 feet, use 2 or 3 pvc pipes!

Excellent and right to the point. Will this work for 100 feet of wire and does it shorten the length of the wire much? Don't want to end up with a jumbled mess that is also too short!

Bad practice. Each twist of the pairs is also twisting the conductors inside each jacket. You need a jig that has individual wire holding jaws that free spin so as not to add tension to the conductors inside the insulation.

What kind of tip in your drill did you occupy?

Oh I always put the wire inside the chuck. Like an idiot. I like this way better !

*I'm new to audio wiring, I'm trying to understand what is the purpose of twisting wires? Is it just for organization or is there performance benefits to it?*
