009: TWISTING WIRE EASILY AND QUICKLY!

How to quickly twist 2 or more wires together in long or short lengths using a simple cordless drill. This is helpful when your manual calls for twisted wires (like power and ground wires) and you need a relatively long piece. Note that this works for pieces as long as you have room! Demonstrated by Mike G. of SteinAir, Inc.

I usually run the drill in reverse for a few turns before unchucking. After a few you'll get the feel for how much to reverse to avoid the spring back. If you do it right, the twisted wire will come out of the drill and not untwist at all. This is coming from 15 years in the car audio and security world and tens thousands of twisted wires.

Thank you for this, especially the tip about spring back. I’m gonna do this to the signal wires of the maf on my car, plus shield and ground the shield. Idk if it’s all the extra radio waves now that was giving making it read erratic but twisting and shielding worked in my temporary fix i did.

Hey man excellent video this really helped me out, just some advice it'd be nice to see multiple different ways to secure the wire that you're twisting. Depending on the equipment, or extra sets of hands the different variations of securing the opposite end you're twisting down.

If you run the wire between your fingers as you did before releasing from the drill chuck with maintained tension (wire taut), a few times from end to end... then the wire will form straight. Of course, slowly release. It should not tangle up.

Is that safe to do? Like no issues? I like the look. Looks cleaner but don’t want to cause any issues. I’m sure over twisting could be problematic
