Iron Man 3 was such a powerful movie. Tony spent too much time away from Pepper, injected himself with locating chips, all for Mark 42. He goes through a lot mentally, and Mark 42 is dead for most of the film. Him realizing his mistake and admitting it, and blowing up that suit really signifies how much change he went through. He realized what was actually important. Also, the fact that MK42 was able to withstand that guy for as long as it did is a testament to Tony's engineering. You can see it wanted to melt but didn't 👌
