Horse and buggy??? What? I think you mean horse drawn carriage or horse and cart!!! I do have to say when I first went to London (as an adult), visiting, with my gf at the time, we walked a lot as well, and we got lost as well. After having lived there for a while it made me smile seeing places I got lost years before. It's a wonderful city, so enjoy it because you might not be there forever so enjoy every day!!!

In the UK, if you dont like the weather, just wait 5 minutes.

If you are visiting a strange place, I don't think there's anything to beat a decent street map, preferably an A-Z. I find it much easier to orientate myself when I can see the layout of the streets on paper. My appointed role on every family holiday was to acquire a map and a bus timetable, and the habit remains! Keep up the good work!

It's just as difficult following sat navs in some of these places, 'take a half left', etc...
It's like being back on the parade square again and told, 'left incline', then glancing around looking for other people as a cue of what to do. Lol.
I love hearing from foreigners who now call the U.K. home. They are seeing everything for the first time, where we have gotten so used to it it often doesn't get a second glance. Watching people appreciate these things for the first time makes us open our eyes again to what is around us.

Don't listen to the London haters, it's where you like so don't let others put you off.🙂

I love your cheeky outlook on London Life!! please tell us more about your experiences in London, spesh the architecture

Your comment about not knowing about architecture reminded me of the great architectural cartoons of Osbert Lancaster (which my grandmother showed me when I was a small child). I'm not sure I would describe London is designed. Evolved from primordial chaos and quarrelling is more my image. Christopher Wren tried to design the city after the great fire, but the old landowners reasserted their rights. Similarly after the Blitz.

The central London street layout is Roman and dates back around 2, 000 years. That’s why you have the typical Roman pattern where the streets radiate out from the centre, rather than following the modern grid layout. London streets are a maze.

Never occurred to me that someone could like Tottenham Court Road. 😛 But I grew up in London and didn't really see it until I showed friends from abroad around it. Nice to see it through your eyes

Hey Megan, great video but damn girl, do you ever come up for air? :) I think all metered taxi journeys in the UK take into account time and distance because, lets face it, grid-locked traffic is most definitely a thing. Black cabs are expensive simply because the meter rates are more expensive. However, you really must appreciate how hard these drivers have to work to even become a cabbie. They have to learn EVERY single street and venue in central London and have to pass a final exam called the Knowledge - it takes on average about 4 years. London cabbies are so knowledgeable about London so if you ever take one again use them like a free hotel concierge! Keep making videos, new subscriber here.

Beaches in N E England are beautiful; the village of Bamburgh even has a medieval castle among the sand dunes

Well I'm glad you said that because there's so many other amazing cities in the UK

Black cabs charge you for BOTH time and distance. They are an expensive luxury that I only use if I have a lot of luggage to take.

Speaking of old London Town. The more I hear your vids.
The more I know that you'd be able to do a great Cockney accent. Your voice reminds of one at times. :D

Hey Megan, why not react and give people an idea about all the good things where you lived in good old Canada?!

When new to Edinburgh after a night out, I woke up in a hotel feel rough. Managed to stagger my way out and jump in a taxi. "Princes Street please" taxi went around the first corner and we were there 🤦‍♂️ I ended up lying and saying I needed dropped off on the other end
