VW Dash Tray Removal

The centre tray can be removed for a variety of reasons, I will be doing this to:
- Wrap the centre console
- Fit a micro usb cable (to charge my phone)
- Possibly fit a dash cam in the future

Removing the tray makes it easier to do anything behind the centre console, just try it and you'll understand!

I removed the dash board tray by looking inside and using two suitable small ball ended Allen keys inserted in the two small holes in the tray nearest the facia side, I pushed in and down to release the two metal clips which released the tray. No trim removal tools necessary or damage to the dashboard. Underneath there was nothong except more screws to be able to remove the dashboard itself.

mate, when you remove this, is there any access to anything else? any power cables or any gaps through anywhere I could run some cables.
I'm thinking of running a usb charger up to it from the lighter cables
