Scotty's advice is perfect for killing microbes after they have grown inside your ventilation system. If you want to minimize the growth of NEW microbes inside your ventilation, get in the habit of turning off your air conditioner 1 to 2 minutes before shutting down the vehicle BUT leave the fan running until the air blowing through the vents is close to ambient temperature. You will not get much condensation forming on cold surfaces inside the ventilation system and therefore there won't be much microbial growth fed by said condensation.

I did this when I first bought my Miata. The AC and Heater smelled AWFUL like mold, then I remembered Scotty had a video on doing this trick. after one can of Lysol, it fixed it and it hasn't smelled since, almost a year later.

Love your channel. Did this on my 2007 Honda Accord EX. Set the fan to MAX and set the climate control to 70 and immediately smelled that awful musty smell. Sprayed the Lysol as Scotty said to do and now my car smells pleasant. I also shared this video with three other people.

This is a pretty good tip. It worked pretty well on my car. The difficulty is figuring out exactly where the intake is. It's not obvious on some cars.

This is the second video you’ve made on the topic but you should probably advise people to remove the cabin air filter or the antibacterial properties of the Lysol won’t make it to the end of the line(the vents).

I used to have a 2008 Corolla, and I found out that they are notorious for having problems with their AC condensers growing mold and bacteria (which would smell if you ran the AC, and then turned the car off without running the blower with the AC compressor turned off to dry it out). I think it had to do with how condensed they were building their cars. I sprayed Lysol through it like he did, and it worked like a charm!

One of the best tips ever. Was changing the filters, using all sort of AC cleaner products that didn't really work. Just plain surface spray cleaner on the inlet and also under the dash when recirculating mode is on and my AC is fresh for months now!

Also remove the old pollen filter and replace with a fresh one, preferably one with a carbon anti bacterial filter.
Also completely clean out the pollen filter housing with something like this product Scotty is using here!

The pollen filter collects microbes and bacteria and is an ideal warm, moist breeding ground for them, that's what causes the smell.

Doing this also helps to prevent misting windows when it rains! ⚠️😲👍

Great tip Scotty also don’t forget to mention to change out your cabin air filter underneath the glove box usually about 14 bucks makes a big difference also

Scotty what about running an ozone generator in your car with the windows rolled up and the air conditioner on recirculate. That works too.
