Setting Up 110 Gallon Indoor Turtle Pond! *DIY*

I will be setting up this DIY 110-gallon indoor turtle pond for my turtles! It's about time as all my turtles have outgrown their old enclosures. Basking platform • 3/4 in. PVC pipe, 3/4 in. 90 degree, 3/4 in. T's

*IMPORTANT* since this video is getting traction, I figured I addressed something because I don’t want to be a bad influence. You guys might have saw that I added Stinky, my mud turtle, into the enclosure. It was only *temporary* (for a few hours) to allow me to setup his enclosure. You should NEVER put a mud/ musk turtle in an enclosure with deep water or with a lack of resting areas because they aren’t great swimmers and can drown! That’s all, thank you! :)

Make sure the rubber parts on filter inlets and outlets are submerged. They suck air in if they not

Canister filters..are really nice when they are working. It always takes me an hour and plus some just to get it started, and I set it up every year when my koi need to come inside for winter. 👺 always fun setting those up…

I got that pump. Works great, but that 1 rubber gasket at the top is a pain. The drain at the bottom works great, I bought longer hose for it and it drains just down the sink. I got a water proof vacuum. After the drain if you vacuum the drain line, it empties the filter container and the water in the in/out lines, making it light enough to move. Your dad rocks.

Nice job brother! You've come a long way from your smaller tank. This is a nice welcome upgrade for your 4 turtles. Your next upgrade would be to build a plywood surrounding the pond so they have a piece of land with sand/soil to walk on. That would be the ultimate set up. Good choice on the FX6 filter. That's probably the best item you bought. Where do you live and why does it look so warm for winter? What's the temperature of your garage? Keep us posted on how they are doing and what your thoughts are on the filter in your next video.
