Seems so easy and yet so difficult to interpret this piece so beautifully. It could be seen as a Nocturne.

Very slow, yes, but completely justified. This is one of the most moving performances I have ever heard.

Very moving performance, but there is still the matter of that perpetuated wrong note at 3:26-3:27 in the melody. it definitely should be A Sharp, not B, and there are actually some editions that make that correction, based on the fact that Chopin himself acknowledged this and made the correction in a copy that he entrusted to a student. This apparently has been lost by the wayside for many, although one can catch performances of this exquisite movement with the note corrected.

Some believe this is the only correct way to play this Chopin Prelude. Others insist it is too slow

The overall slow speed is fine but his continuous variation of tempo - speeding up, then slowing down from bar to bar - I find rather exaggerated.

I think this is waaaay The slower you play this piece, the greater the chance you lose the impact of the melody. It's beauty and delicacy are intertwined with its brevity.
