At the beggining I was suprised with Sokolov's slow tempo as compared to other pianist. But at the end, I thought, my God, this is the best interpretation of No. 24. He extracted and presented to us in a masterful way the dark side of Chopin genius.

1:21 is no one going to talk about how Sokolov is able to hold that one note and it gradually crescendos and then he just lets it ring for a second. Absolutely stunning. It should be impossible to play like that.

This interpretation of the profound Chopin Prelude by the great Sokolov will be passed on to my child, and his child, and so on.

No words... Sokolov and Zimerman are the best pianists alive in my opinion.

In the next to last cascade down (2:15) the pianissimo is not in Chopin's score. I know why he's doing it but it takes a little getting used to.

So clean, every harmony progression i mean, and yet so emotional and stirring.

J'ai adoré la version de Pollini mais là... Absolument superbe ! Tellement russe ! Merci encore.

This sounds truly amazing, yet Argerich's interpretation is so angsty that it makes more sense to me. It all comes down to personal preference I guess!

It is interesting to compare this performance with that other great master of the piano - Marta Argerich. They project such power and emotion in Chopin's works.

Sokolov finds meaning, -- recondite, new and valid meaning -- where it isn't there. But since this is music, and since he's a genius, it's now there.

Interpretation splendide et quelle maîtrise du rubato, la virtuosité impeccable mais discrète

Cho's version is better but doesn't mean I don't like Grigory!
