This video shows you how to apply Bold, Italics and Underline formatting to text, when creating documents with Microsoft Word.

Tips: Apply Bold, Italics or Underline formatting when you want to add emphasis to certain words or phrases, and to draw attention to specific content in your document.

Use Italics to distinguish titles and names of books, magazines, volumes, reports, and poems
Use Italics on works cited page, such as periodicals and websites.
Use Italics when writing movie titles, play and TV show titles

Use Underline when referring to longer works, such as books, movies, TV shows, journals, and magazines. It is common to italicize the titles, however, in handwritten papers or situations where italics are unavailable (such as certain online platforms or plain text documents), underlining can be used as a substitute for italics.

Use Bold sparingly - avoid overusing it. Cluttered writing can distract readers from the main message. Reserve bold for essential elements that truly require emphasis.
Use Bold to highlight important words or phrases that convey the core meaning of your sentence. By using Bold strategically, you can guide your reader’s attention and emphasize significant elements within your writing
