Yes, learning the "how-to's" will give you an advantage when starting out. However, if you dont work, then you're simply at stuck at square one.

- Muscles are still small despite the knowledge of every muscle group
- Coding skills are still cold despite knowing some things from tutorials

This is exactly why school can be very beneficial since they teach you creative thinking and problem solving. That's something which isn't talked about enough, but it's 100% the most important toolset. Anyone can learn syntax and semantics. Learning problemsolving and breaking down problems into digestable chunks --- now that's the real game.

watch a basic tutorial and follow along. and make your own project side by side, using your creativity. this is how you will improve

I think the issue is that coding is a "set of tools", the architecture, algorithms, how you implement your solutions has almost nothing to do with programming laguages ( aside from some differences or limitations).
If youre watching a tutorial, and you're not even thinking about the tutorial but about how what you're learning can be applied to different things, thats a good sign. You gotta practice the thinking.

If you copy another code, just comment later this code, and try to do this again by yourself with logic. That's a good practice.

Imitation is good starting point by watching tutorial. It become a problem if you stop there and not follow up by solving real problem.

I stopped watching coding tutorials like 3 months ago and now its time to stop watching videos that say to stop watching those tutorials.

Its literally tutorial hell, unless we learn from the project and keep practicing and build our own projects. Project based learning is what I been needed! 👀.

i'm learning C++ game development and currently i would say that i am in a tutorial hell, from today i will finally start my own project, i already have ideas for like 5-6 projects but have not started any of them, i will begin from the 1st project now. i'll see what happens.

Definitely agree im learning new technology im following Udemy course but i think i learned most when i start building my own projects
