Awesome video man. Flexseal and Henry’s is the WORST stuff you could use. That stuff gets cold and then hot in the summer and will NEVER last as a repair. Also, you be been doing this flashing trick for a few years now and it’s awesome to see you do this. It gives me peace of mind. I’m just simple handyman and sometimes my customers need a quick repair before it rains and this is what I always do. Most handyman just dab it with sealant and call it a day but the flashing is what really makes it last once the sealant fails the flashing is there to save the day. Awesome video.

I found that forcing roofing cement from the hole in the top shingle all they through the nail hole and oozing into the attic works well. The tar plug is protected from the sun and it lasts as long as the roof. Need to have a smaller nozzle cut so it practically fits in the nail hole. My roof has had over 12 leaks from a bad roofing job. In the video it looks like that stuff that was skimmed on top of the shingle broke down from the elements.

Exactly the video I was looking for to repair my punctured shingle. If I tried to replace that shingle and break the seals on the shingles above, I would have a 90% chance that I would mess things up.

Yep. Geocel is great. Only issue is that if you have a small repair and get a new tube, the remainder is almost impossible to get out if you don't use the tube within a short time. Once opened, is is very difficult reuse an old tube of this stuff.

I bet that repair would last as long as that roof does but I actually used my geocel finally I bought it months ago and I had to buy a newer caulk gun because the geocel is so dang thick but I really like it because it cures fast and it’s rubbery and tacks really well my loose shingles wont come up as easily with wind and I was just doing it as maintenance I checked just shut every single shingle but I know you recommended the geocel and it’s by far the best product I have ever used.

Apply poly seal n fleece n poly seal under the shingle n underlayment to the wood

I'm presuming that those flashing squares are available at Big Box stores ... maybe the flat nail-puller bars as well? (I emailed you a longer question about how to deal with a valley intersection part way up a slope, but you're busy as winter approaches, so no biggie) ... it's a darn good channel because it's real problems in the field!

If you have to repair a roof with two layers of shingles, and the bottom layer us damaged along with rhe top, do you have to replace wirh two layers of shingles?
