'ASTONISHINGLY Low Ambition!' | Isabel Oakeshott Slams Keir Starmer's Government's Crime Targets

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has insisted a ban on the sale of ninja swords, dubbed “Ronan’s law”, will be brought forward by the Government.

Pooja Kanda has campaigned for a law change after her son Ronan, 16, was yards away from his Wolverhampton home when he was murdered with a ninja sword in 2022.

Ms Cooper said Ronan’s killers ordered the weapon online with “no checks, no questions asked” as she reiterated the Government’s commitment to introduce new legislation.

Her remarks came on the day a ban on owning zombie-style knives and machetes came into force.

Talk’s Kevin O’Sullivan is joined by international editor Isabel Oakeshott, who says the Government has “astonishingly low ambition” for crime targets.

I have twice been called for jury service. Once to Maidstone Crown Court the second to the law courts in London. On both occasions, the judge starts at 10 am until 4pm with an hour and a half for lunch. Equals 4 and a half hours work ( less the ceremonial bits ) daily. No wonder there is a gigantic backlog.
