What a classy, cool, elegant and learned woman Dr Castor is.

This wonderful documentary shows how intertwined France and England have always been throughout their history.

The sad thing is that this is still an issue women in authority face. For example whilst exhibiting the same behaviour a woman might be called bossy or domineering whilst a man would be called assertive and forthright! Women would be called hysterical and a man would be described as passionate. Language is important and society won’t change unless people continue to converse and point out the hypocrisy. Hope one day our future generations can solve this.

I would go back to the Medieval Period just to gaze upon all that spectacular architecture they built. The abbeys, monasteries, cathedrals, castles, fortresses, city walls with gatehouses. To look at all the gorgeous Catholic abbeys, priories, monasteries that were dissolved during Henry VIII's time. All the castles that were damaged or ruined, and
walls that no longer stand. It would be worth capturing the plague to see it all.

To be able to travel back through time just to get a peek at events like this would be a dream come true.

I love finding out about these earlier Queens I knew nothing about. It's always Vicky or Liz you hear about. Quite Interesting!!

Helen's voice is so soothing and wonderful. She did such a great job on this! Learned a lot about England's early queens. They really set the stage for the future female rulers.

I've always known about Henry and Eleanor of Aquitaine, but Matilda was a surprise to me. I love learning new (to me) history like this.

The presenter couldn't have been more perfect for this.

Thank you for posting it.

I admire Matilda, for how determined and pragmatic she was.

My French teacher assigned me a book about Eleonor but it covered her as a fifteen-year-old. It's really nice to see what happened after that.

I had read that Eleanor was divorced because of that old favourite, no male heir!
So when she remarried and produced 8 children, several boys amongst them, what a wonderful slap in the face for the milksop Louis
