istg if Isabella of Castile lived to hear about Henry divorcing her daughter, she would have absolutely DESTROYED him and England!

One thing that gave me a whole new perspective on Henry VIII and his relationships, was learning that Henry and Katherine were married for 24 years.

His next FIVE marriages lasted about 10 or 11 years COMBINED 😳

My Roman Empire is imagining what these two accomplished, freethinking and intelligent women could have succeeded at if they weren’t pitted against each other and only valued for their wombs. I spit on the grave of Henry VIII

Those two women were victims of Henry VIII, as were their children. It is especially tragic that Henry thwarted Anne's intended love and marriage to Henry Percy, whom she originally wanted to marry. Henry quite clearly did not remember or ignored that Bible verse between a husband and wife in Matthew 19:6 - "So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Oh my gosh the Morgan Library is half a mile away from me. I guess Katherine's prayer book isn't there now but I can imagine other 16th century rare books might be. Going there tomorrow!

Catherine and Anne’s story isn’t just a rivalry for a king’s love—it’s a clash between two brilliant, formidable women who helped shape the course of English history. Two different paths, but more in common than we often realize.

Such a great combination of historical commentators - get the best vibes from them all. A new generation of presenters - amazing research - and clearly such passion for Anne and Catherine's history - and the history of Hever. Thank you all! Keep up the great work

Would love to see something just focused on Catherine. Even in things like this she feels like a side character to Henry and Anne’s relationship

Wow, this video really highlights the complexities of Anne Boleyn and Katherine Of Aragon's rivalry. It's so fascinating to see how their lives intertwined. However, I can't help but feel that Anne gets more sympathy in historical discussions, even though Katherine's position was incredibly challenging too. What do you all think?

I have to admire anne for not allowing herself to be used and tossed aside by henry like her sister. Henry should have gone for someone more compliant.

Both my favourite Queens. Catherine's suffering and misery ended in death people cherished her. Anne was brave and courageous she showed no human weakness during her execution. Both souls rest in paradise ✨️
