I spent all of last night trying to install nextcloud on docker using portainer and I could not make it work... turn out that I was missing some small steps... thanks for the video. simple and straight to the point. I love it.

Your guides are the best for simplicity and clarity. Wondering if you'd be willing to do Nextcloud in Portainer again, but using MariaDB and binding volumes properly for persistent storage. Netsec has a couple vids but doesn't bind any volumes in Portainer, says its just for "testing" and is much more convoluted than your guides. Your Jellyfin guide was awesome. Thank you for your work!

Nice video! I did a bare metal install of Nextcloud some years ago and I remember I had to install and configure Redis and other libs to have NC working properly. How can this be done with a container? Is opening a console onto the container and configuring with command line still possible?
Moreover, I also remember I struggled to install OnlyOffice, which requires a kind of "secondary server" (OnlyOffice Document Server): would I have to create a second container for OODS and link it to the NC container?
Thanks in advance fro your advices!

I installed Raspbian OS
Installed Docker

followed your guide and I'm getting the following error

"AH00558: apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name"

I only wanna run it locally anyway. any way to fix this?

I don't choose "public a new port...", how can i change nextcloud port? Or What is default nextcloud port, sir?

Followed your instruction and only get "Composer autoloader not found, unable to continue. Check the folder "3rdparty". Running "git submodule update --init" will initialize the git submodule that handles the subfolder "3rdparty"." in my browser...

I followed the video with the only differences being the host volume location and the port that I forwarded to 443. I was able to deploy the container and access the login/admin creation screen. When I entered the info and clicked "Install" I would get: "Internal Server Error The server was unable to complete your request. If this happens again, please send the technical details below to the server administrator. More details can be found in the server log." When I changed the volume to use docker's internal volumes instead of the host, Nextcloud successfully installed. I checked the local folders and I see stuff was successfully placed in the two folders I created, so I'm not sure exactly what could be going wrong. Technically I'm up and running, but I'd still like to find out why I had to change how the volume was used. Any insight? Thanks!

I have port 443 used by other app,
Is it mandatory to run nextcloud on that port ?

I have successfully installed Docker but there is a statement in the index, namely '502 Bad Gateway'

So the database server is self contained inside the nextcloud image ?

How come for me it only works to use port 80 and not 443 to access the nextcloud portal?

Thanks for the tutorial.
Docx files it saves instead of opening them in nextcloud.
