I keep running into an issue when creating the nextcloud user via the webgui. It says it can't connect to the database. I've tried setting the database host to the ip it's accessing it from 192.x.x.x:3306, localhost:3306, and the port mapped address 172.17.x.x:3306 and none of them work. I tried setting the network mode of each to host or custom (since their 172.17 addresses are not in the same network) and still nadda. Any suggestions?

This is way more thorough than I could have hoped, but I should have expected it. Exceptional quality tutorial as always. I sincerely wish a lot of people see this and decide to tackle the project for themselves. Self-hosting is the future. Commercial cloud services can't be trusted and are definitely not our friends.

This was a great howto, everything worked as expected for me. I also already was forwarding to homeassistant, so I changed that to swag and now swag can handle all my networking, so that's great.

Thank you! I finally managed to repair my broken Nextcloud instance with this video. I was running SQLite before and installed MariaDB with this video instead.
