This is a terribly designed house get rid of the garage build a block wall. Bring the driveway up so it’s slopes away from the house.

Problem is those driveways that slant downwards towards the house...I never understood that but i see it all over.

Design of those garages appears to be ideal for flooding.

It's the way homes are built and driveways. Don't see water laying on the grass.

Never buy a house with a down sloping driveway.

What kind of landscaping can you do when the street is higher than your driveway?? Way more complicated issue.

Montreal Quebec doesn’t have money for this!
The Legault Plante government only has money for bike lanes and don’t forget
On parle Francais ici.

And the Liberals will say just increase the carbon tax and there will be no more flooding.

People and reporter have a short memory. It's not the first time of flooding, Big storm in 1987, in the 90's, in 2005 etc.. And in those day's no one but the blame on Climate change. that word didn't exit then.. Stop complaining that's life and mother nature will always have her way what ever you do..

That poor man certainly needs a sump pump in his basement.

I moved there in 1981 and became a renovator several years later . I was never out of business because of this type of flooding . I later moved to Ontario in 1989 and have never looked back since .Best thing I have ever done .

Was not happy living there so my family and I moved to Ontario over 27 years ago, never been happier .

Adjust landscaping of their homes is the answer?
The government is clueless if it believes its citizens are that wealthy. Meanwhile roughly a third of people quality as being in poverty...roughly half living paycheck to paycheck. But sure....just spend like 40k to raise your property well above street level everyone. You got this!

Home owners are responsible for the flooding of their own homes, get insurance or a sump pump etc fix it. No way should tax dollars pay for this

Who builds a house with a down driveway ????
Blame your builders !!!!
second you need a proper pumping system...
