I think everyone is forgetting that they can activate big picture mode on the Legion Go to give you that “console” like experience and similarly to Steam deck.

Just in case other people missed it, the issue with scaling down the refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz only when plugged in is a known issue to lenovo, they stated in their latest changelog update that they are working on this and it will be fixed in the coming updates 👌😉

I bought one last weekend and I'm loving the hell out of it, been literally losing sleep over wanting to wake up and play it! Holy cow LOOK at that screen when you're showing sonic, that looks ridic!

You mentioning the possibilities of releasing alternate "joycons" with e.g. no dpad or trackpads made me super excited -- this is the kind of innovation i love about devices like this one, the endless possibilities that arise from the modular nature 😇 I can totally see people quickly changing the normal "joycons" to ones with trackpads for games that require it, and that would really make this closer to the steam deck :)

I reported the refresh rate issue a few days ago to Lenovo. Ben Myers acknowledged that it's being looked into.

The legion go is the best device out of the bunch. It has some short comings but my steam deck did. If they upgraded the battery to the size the kun has it would be a beast. I run my games in performance mode @ 1200 x 800 and it’s insane. The steam deck oled is second best because of steam os

Ehhh, I have no issues....I can see everything on the screen. I'm happy they went with windows 11. Easy to mod stuff. I don't know man....definitely don't agree on a lot here, but. Great getting info from you before launch on the Go. I'm done here.

I think the Legion Go is a pretty phenomenal device. I've been using mine since day 1, and my only 3 complaints are the lack of a steam input alternative, the Legion Space software needs fine-tuning, and the speakers (which are total trash when using them for things like netflix but they're ok for gaming). I've found the screen looks better and it's bigger, it's more powerful, it's heavier but its more comfortable to hold, has great battery life (which can probably be improved with updates), and when you detach the joycons you get an 8.4in tablet.

I bought Lenovo Go a week ago and it's awesome. I also bought a Samsung 2.TB SSD USB-C for it, because it's better than using SD card.
It's fascinating that these 3 major PC handhelds is so different. None of them is the best. In my case i wanted a huge screen and Windows among other things.

Most of the problems listed here I’ve been fixed with the newest update. I think this thing will be just as good as the Ally in about a month or two. This is coming from someone who owns both. the Ally is a completely different device today than it was when it launched.

There's no way you going to return your Lenovo Legion Go. Judging by all your gaming devices consoles, you just adding the Go to your collection.

Joystick Ayrton made the point that more than FPS mode, the controller is perfect as RTS mode, especially when you are on the go… I agree with this take

regarding the login issue-> I just set the account to a local one and put windows to auto-sign in without any input. I also have steam run on windows startup in big picture mode.

Great video, in my opinion around 50% the issues with those handheld games is WINDOWS (can’t figure out in 30 years) but also the Legion Go only being out for a couple of weeks so comparing it to ROG or SteamDeck is unfair at the moment. Congrats to Sony and Apple because they control hardware and software!

I'm a big fan of the Legion Go so far (still ordering a SteamDeck OLED tomorrow!) I've connected my Go to an eGPU with an RX7700XT and it's benchmarking higher than my dedicated 2 year old gaming rig (5800X w/ 3070) I've been using my Go as my gaming rig and playing MWIII and Elden Ring and I'm blown away....and it's also a handheld. I also think all these reviewers who comment on the weight need to stop playing video games and do some exercise. It's really not heavy, it's just heavier then what's out there.

I think the legion go is the best out of all the handhelds because of the versatility it offers which you didn’t cover. Not only is it a solid gaming machine, but you can replace your personal laptop or desk top with it. A lot of people have talked about being able to use it not only for web browsing and watching videos, but also using it as a work computer. I’ve even heard of software devs using it to code while on the go.

The weight is offset by the detachable controllers and super impressive kickstand

I Picked the 2TB from Micro Center, and have ROG Ally and Steam deck since lunch, I say way better than SD in all aspects except the software which is not a big deal for me I like windows and have no trouble doing I what like + Game Pass is a big deal in how many titles you can get with a subscription vs Steam Store that you need to buy and so many free games on Epic which is easier to access vs tinkering with Steam OS to run other stores games. Sound is not as good as ROG Ally but I figured with few EQ tweaking it comes really close to ROG. screen is awesome and controllers being detachable makes it a very nice mini PC tablet which is another advantage and Micro center upgrade makes it a very reasonable choice.

Great video. Feel you were really fair. Tired of all the videos that are black or white. I have a Legion Go and a steamdeck. The Steam deck has been in its case since i got the Go. Yes, the steamdeck is way more friendly to use, but i just can't express how excited i feel every time i pick up my Go. I think the wonder of potential for the Go keeps me coming back.
