Let's review the Lenovo Legion Go S, with the "new" Z2 Go APU and big upgrades to its controls and ergonomics...and a crazy price point.

This was a review unit sent to me by the manufacturer. All opinions are my own, they did not see this review ahead of time, and no money was exchanged in any way.

I'm loving my Steam Deck, but instead of fighting over if this is the very best option, I'm just happy that we have a choice, because competition makes sure things will be even better in the future. So, happy gaming, everyone!

I'm from Brazil and the Legion Go S is suposed to be our Steam Deck due to Lenovo having an assembly factory in Manaus' Free Economic Zone, which reduces the import taxes from 65% to only the 17% Sales Tax.
That's why getting any gaming laptop like the DELL G15 with the RTX3050 makes more sense here because it's cheaper than an Steam Deck OLED.
We do have the Steam Deck from individual imports and and even with 65% tax I'ts cheaper than the other portables, but let's see if the Go S will have a better price.

Buying a refurbished Steam deck OLED (€459) directly from Valve was a really good decision, I really love it! Honestly at this price point nothing can compete.

All I can say after watching this video is thank you for being truthful and not a shill. Sometimes people say you're being a shill compared to other's videos when they are super critical of a product that you also recently reviewed but this is another reminder that you are clearly not. Even if lenovo ends up spitting their coffee after seeing this, you have the community's full respect and then some. Great watch.

I hope Lenovo understands that, while you've given them an unflattering review of this unit, when they finally do nail the device, people will trust you when you tell them it's good.

Still use my legion Go everyday basically, have mostly started using it to stream from my pc so I can play virtually any game at the full resolution of the screen with 60+ fps curled up in bed at night. Truly is incredible.

@2:20 what were they thinking. The (2) Z1 extreme price difference is $80. The (2) Z2 Go price difference is $180. Yea they 4uked up. This should've been about $600-$615. I bet everyone that bought this returned it.

Love the cute SteamDeck... lol

Truth at this price, I would buy a used LCD steamdeck, they can be had for like $250-350 in the used market, drop in a 2tb drive and you are all set...

I've had my prize unit from Lenovo for about a month and I agree with your review. I would not pay this much for a Go S but I love the feel and features. I do love using mine with a Win11/Bazzite dual boot setup. It almost seems like the first model was a proof of concept that somehow made it to market. I am actually impressed with performance when using FSR and Frame Gen in some titles, but not "$720 impressed". I tried Steam OS 3.8 and it will be the way to go on this device, but I had a few issues waking from sleep. Once Steam OS is available in a true release, it will be going on my device.

this kind of money can buy a lot of toilet paper in the upcoming recession

I’ll stick with my regular 1Tb Legion GO and Odin 2 Pro for handheld gaming, S is such a disappointment

Edit: 31:17 lmao, the "secret code" to enjoying the S is spending more money on an actually capable gaming PC to stream games from, great, totally worth the 730$ asking price for the handheld

I was really excited about this device… Its sad to see that it won’t be that good value, I guess its back to the ROG Ally 2
Thank you for this review !

Legion Go S with Z1 Extreme and 32GB of RAM on an 8 inch screen will be one of the best handhelds out there.

Recently got a steam deck lcd off the used market for about 250$. For a 512gb. Avoid any looming tarifs and honestly can say this steam deck has changed my gaming life. A truly amazing device thank you valve.
