How To Know Which Memory Card Is Best For Your Camera: SD, Micro SD, Compact Flash, XQD, CFast

The first thing I want to say is DO NOT CHEAP OUT on the memory cards you put in your camera. You spend all this money on a camera, the last thing you want to do is use a cheap, slow card that may fail and lose all your images.

How do you know which memory card is right for your camera? There are a dew different types of cards on the market. SD, Micro SD, Compact Flash, XQD and CFast. They all have different speeds at which they write data as well as read data. The cards will vary in price as well.

Jared maybe you get a deal on your XQD cards, that’s why they’re only a little more expensive. But when I pay for them they’re almost twice to three times the cost of a regular SD card. Hopefully they will come down in the future!

Canon's newer cameras must support CFast 2.0, XQD, and UHS-II SD slots because they're faster cards! Canon does not use an XQD card just yet
