Agree entirely, my approach as well. That is an excellent amp!

All of your points are sound, I chose to get a small/medium board recently (fits 8-9 pedals). It forced me to learn my pedals and experiment more with the sounds I have. It also curbed my pedal purchase habits because it requires I remove one of the pedals I have.

For those having trouble narrowing their OD selection consider the following: pick 1 OD you really like that plays well with other ODs, set a Strymon compadre before and a boss ge-7 after. The compadre has a boost with 3 settings (treble, mids, flat) and Ge-7 is an extremely powerful EQ and is a great clean boost. Those 3 together give me so many tone options but still retains the clipping and feel I enjoy out of my core OD.

I agree with you. My previous was tuner, 3 ODs, phaser, chorus, multi delay and tremolo. Then I notice that 99% of my time was spend with 2 ODs, slap delay and tremolo. Now Im rocking a nano+ with those pedal and a tuner. Im much happier now

That’s just the right size. I have 3 boards about that size each for different uses. 2 of are partially vocal pedals from TC Helicon and some pedals for acoustic. It’s definitely nice to avoid tap dancing, especially when singing.

Used to have a HX stomp with external pedals around it. Sold it and settled with two zoom multistomps and an expression pedal. Completely happier.

Couldn't agree more man! I've cut back to 9 on the main board and it gives me all the tones I need to jam and play live across multiple genres. If I need a special effect, I can always go into the pedal locker and make some adjustments 😊

Thanks for talking me down into buying more pedals and a larger pedalboard. I'll just settle with the one's I have for now 🙂

Flint, El Cap, Cali and Kilt...some good taste my friend. I like this channel. Subscribed. You seem very genuine. The gear industry needs more of that. Plus, we have the same views on the Golden Fleece ( Guitar -> Golden Flecee -> Amp ) and I love using amp gain. A lot of people go with a super clean amp and then add gain through pedals but I think adding amp gain is almost a must with dirt pedals in order to properly create gain stages. It brings the best best out of the pedals. I had a huge board, sold a ton of pedals and bought a Chase Bliss Preamp Mk II and the CXM reverb. Those two and a delay is all I need. Then again I also have another board just for blues and blues/rock but hey I’m trying lol I’ve been going back and forth between a small Two Rock and a Suhr amp head. Do you really like the Suhr?

Cool! I have a question for you: Which camera do you use in your videos?

How on earth did you find someone to mod your el cap and flint like that? 4 presets ?

LaCroix’s best flavor is pure.
Small pedal boards best flavor is 8 pedals

I am cutting down my pedals for a lot of the same reasons, some of it is just so I have less decisions to make(this drive or that one?).

I strongly disagree, Key Lime or Limoncello are both way better than Coconut.
